Dear Members and Friends,
Welcome to this edition of the All India Anglo Indian Association, Bangalore Branch’s newsletter. We hope to use this publication to address the growing need to improve communication and connect with our members, we intend to use this medium to keep you updated on our branch activities, make announcements, showcase creative talent and simply connect with you through this powerful medium.

That said, we can only sustain this exciting initiative through support and involvement from each of you. Please provide regular feedback and inputs so we can make this a primary mouthpiece for everything related to our great association.

THE 2017 AGM AND NEW COMMITTEE

The 2017 Annual General Body meeting of the All India Anglo Indian Association Bangalore branch was held on the 29th of August at the Frank Anthony Public School, Cambridge road. While the turnout for the AGM was lower than we hoped, it was as always a great opportunity to meet members and listen to the news from the association. It was also the culmination of a completed year for the previous committee and time to elect a new committee for 2017-18. The Newly elected committee is listed below.

Launch of Social Media Presence & Email list

One of the key observations that the new committee made, was the need for us to connect better with our members, community and friends and we were determined to use social media to do that.

We are happy to announce that we are now live on our official Facebook page and captured a little over 275 followers within just a couple of months since launching the page. More importantly we have reached thousands of members and well-wishers through our posts that include information, events, news and flashbacks. Through a campaign online we have also been able to enroll over 150 members on a new email distribution list and look forward to you being on that list as well. Email us to be added!

Youth Wing

The Committee is proud to inform you that we have managed to launch our own Youth Wing. This group of talented youngsters will begin working closely with the core committee while also gradually launching their own programs. CAROL NIGHT AND BONFIRE FELLOWSHIP

To bring in the season of Christmas we are happy to announce “A CAROL NIGHT & BON FIRE FELLOWSHIP” featuring our Anglo-Indian children from the Frank Anthony Public School.

Members and Parents please treat this as an invite and join us on; The 8th of Dec, Friday between 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the FAPS Auditorium. Our very own Dexter Ross and his famous Food Truck, the Smoke Signal BBQ will be in attendance.

CHRISTMAS TREE AND CARNIVAL

Our Flagship event and a children’s favorite, the Christmas tree and Carnival will be held on the 16th of Dec, Sat between 10:30 a.m. and 06:00 p.m. at The Frank Anthony Public School.

There will be the usual fun and entertaining sports events for our kids and the joy of meeting Santa later in the evening. Our Carnival will feature a range of stalls serving piping hot carnival treats. While the game stalls will offer some fun and entertainment for all.

Our newly formed youth group will also be running some exciting stalls including a “Request and Dedication Stall”.

Tickets go on sale from Monday the 27th and details are below;

Member Child: Rs. 700 || Non Member child: Rs. 1000 (includes snacks, beverage and gift from Santa)

Member adult snacks: 200 || Non- member adult snacks: 300 || Entry Raffle Ticket:  Just Rs. 10 only (Not for ticket holders)

Christmas Dance & Social

We all love to bogey and so we invite you and your family and friends to join us for a Christmas Dance and Social on the 27th of Dec at 6:30 p.m. again at the Frank Anthony Public School, Auditorium. This Charity Dance has been organized to celebrate the Season of Christmas and Community and also to help our association to raise funds for our various events and activities through the year. Please make sure you patronize the event enthusiastically and we promise to give you a great evening of fun, dance, music and entertainment.

In attendance will be the famous band “Eddy’s Rayz”. Also in attendance will be an in house DJ.

Senior Citizen Christmas Lunch & Get Together

Our MLA, Mrs. Vinisha Nero will be hosting a lunch and get together for the Senior Citizens of our Community on the 9th Dec, Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m

We wish our members a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
